MeetingZone was formed in 2002 by Steve Gandy and Tim Duffy, who collectively have over 50 years experience in telecoms, conferencing and collaboration technologies.
Tim and Steve have created an extremely strong, professional, experienced and friendly team at all levels throughout the organisation. Here are just some of the professionals you will meet in your day to day dealings with MeetingZone.
Steve Gandy – Chief Executive Officer
Steve is a veteran of the conference call industry, having established BT's conferencing business back in 1993, growing it from start-up to a $100m a year business in 5 years. In 1999 he founded Quip!, the UK's first internet based telecommunications service company which broke the mould with its fully automated billing and customer service before setting up MeetingZone with Tim in 2002.
Tim Duffy – Chairman
Tim was founder of the European operations of PictureTel Corporation in 1991 which became the dominant videoconferencing supplier worldwide with over $100m of European revenues. In 1999 he moved to PictureTel’s Boston headquarters to lead the worldwide product business, which was later sold to Polycom, before setting up MeetingZone with Steve in 2002.
Martin Erasmus - IT Director
Martin is an industry acknowledged expert in telecoms and billing having worked in this area since 1983 for companies such as Unisys and Computer Sciences Corporation. Martin has been with MeetingZone from its inception and has been responsible for the implementation of the IT infrastructure and our unique state of the art billing system.
Liz Fretwell - Sales Director
Liz has over 10 years experience in the telecoms industry, the last 7 of which have been at MeetingZone where she now heads up the 20 strong sales team. Before joining MeetingZone, Liz ran a sales team at Intercall for 3 years.
William Dangerfield – Director of Service Delivery
With over 29 years in telecoms, William’s vast experience ensures MeetingZone’s customer service is of the highest quality. William spent over 20 years at BT where he worked with Steve Gandy before joining MeetingZone in 2004.
Tim East – Head of Global Operations
Tim has been with MeetingZone since the business was launched in 2002. Previously, Tim has managed customer service teams for BT and has been involved in the conferencing industry for over 15 years.
Wendy Marceta - Customer Service Team Leader
Wendy is a fluent French speaker and has been with MeetingZone for over 4 years gaining in-depth expertise in running operator managed calls and in leading her team to deliver the highest levels of customer care. Wendy is vastly experienced with over 20 years of her career spent in customer service.
Steffi Eschenburg – Customer Service Team Leader
Steffi is a native German speaker and is also totally fluent in English. Steffi has been part of MeetingZone's customer service team working with our international clients for over 4 years.
Inna Frampton – Customer Service
Inna is fluent in Russian and English and has worked in a customer services role for the last 7 years. Inna has been with MeetingZone for over two years.
Madeline Ferreira-Leonard - Customer Service
Madeline is a multi–linguist with over 10 years experience in customer service roles and has been with MeetingZone for two years. Madeline speaks fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
Jacobo Romero – Customer Service
Jacobo is a native Spanish speaker who also speaks English and French. He has spent over 10 years in customer service having joined MeetingZone in February 2008.
Phil Thwaites – Customer Service
A fluent Italian and English speaker, Phil has been with MeetingZone for over a year and manages calls for our global customers.
Gavin Wade-Williams – Sales Manager
Gavin joined MeetingZone 3 years ago having previously worked in FMCG, B2B & B2C markets. Gavin believes in building strong business relationships based on understanding client needs. Gavin heads up the new business team at MeetingZone.
Jo Howes – Strategic Sales Manager
Jo joined MeetingZone in 2003 as a sales consultant and with over 18 years experience in teleconferencing, knows the business inside out. Jo has previously worked for IBM, Amdahl, Genesis Conferencing and Global Crossing. Jo manages some of our major global accounts and also has responsibility for training.
Danny Steventon – Key Account Manager
Danny has been with MeetingZone for 5 years and manages many of our larger customers. His in-depth knowledge and understanding of MeetingZone's range of products and services ensures that his customers receive the best conferencing solutions to meet their individual needs.
John Hawkins – Finance
John has been with MeetingZone for 5 years, starting with customer service before moving on to use his experience and understanding of our customers in the Finance Department.
