It’s March and we have just had more snow. Here at MeetingZone’s offices in Thame we haven’t been lucky and not had much snow at all, but there are many places in the UK which have been hit hard with the resulting impact on businesses when people struggle to get to work.

To get stuff done we work as a team to reach a shared goal. No problem! You can use new technology in the form of online collaboration tools that are sprouting everywhere. Right?

During my career, I’ve worked for a number of organisations and have seen a huge variety of attitudes towards working from home. From what I have seen, this mostly depends on the willingness of senior management to trust their employees when they can’t see them.

Recently I was part of a meeting with a customer and we were discussing the current collaboration tools that were used in their organisation.

The last fifteen years has seen tremendous change in terms of technology, network quality and device functionality with digital transformation taking hold. The culture within businesses for team collaboration as part of business process is now firmly established driving increased usage of audio, web and video conferencing, as well as chat, messaging and presence services.

In the first of a series of articles, Renée Fredlund, MeetingZone’s Global Product and Marketing Director gives a personal view on how digital transformation is changing the way businesses deliver value.

I spend a lot of time training, coaching and encouraging individual users in my public sector accounts to embrace digital transformation to change the way they work and meet.
